It was an entire decade ago that we went out on our first date.
A few weeks previous, without any romantic intent of our own, we went to see a movie that actually tried very hard to be romantic in its own way – A Life Less Ordinary, Danny Boyle’s misguided follow-up to Trainspotting. That movie featured Ewan MacGregor as an aimless romantic of a scotsman who accidentally kidnaps Cameron Diaz from a world that she really wants to escape from.
The actual “date movie” (explicitly defined as such) that we went to see, at my own urging, now holds a legendary place in the story of our lives. What was this mythical movie, you ask? Read the rest of this post »

The Tumblr Blog has been quite nice, only up to a point. It’s a very simple format, very streamlined.
However, the simplicity is accompanied by limitations, some of which I just can’t abide by anymore. It has pained me that I haven’t been providing all three of my readers with the opportunity to not comment on my posts.
Well, now the opportunity is here. I expect that there’ll be some further tweaks coming about as I figure out the kinks of this whole wordpress bit – believe me, it’s going to be far from fascinating. While I’ll be holding to the more spare format that I’ve been doing over on Tumblr, I’ll also be stretching out a little more into longer posts of questionable interest.
