You may know Jon by way of Brooklyn, rather than Newton. Skavoovie was largely a NSHS band, with Natchez being the only one from NNHS.

Yoni mentioned the perfect LA freeway song to me (he thinks the name is Brandenburg, off their 2005 album Gulag Orkestar), and was excited to hear that they're performing in LA tonight. He's going to try to go.

Strange. I discovered Beirut last week on eMusic because I needed some last minute music for the road trip to Hershey. I thought they were an 80s band. Then on the way back, Yoni's iPod plays one of their songs on random (incidentally, he described it as a perfect LA freeway driving song). Now it turns out it's a Newton thing.

Did I know Jon? I feel like yes, maybe, but not sure why. Ansis is the only one I really remember from Skavoovie.
